RUM

The Origin

The story of Rum is a very old one; it‘s composed of
influences from around the world and across cultures,
oceans and millennia. In each iteration of a populace
who favors it, it has been morphed, enhanced,
experimented with and made singular in some form
or another. True, there is a unifying feature of the
spirit that allows it to retain its unique character but,
beyond the the necessity of distilled sugarcane, Rum
affords its crafters a blank slate with which to make
it their own. By infusing a local spice, fruit or other
experiential enhancement, from hints of nutmeg
and clove in Rums of Western Europe, caRdamom and
ginger in Rums of India, even to beets and allspice in
traditional Rum concoctions of Eastern Europe, it‘s
inarguable the Rum is truly the melting pot spirit.
It‘s through this uniquely adaptable crafting style
and worldwide contributions that Rum has come to
be and, as such, embodies qualities and principles
representative of the very philosophy of America itself.

Taking cues from all walks of life and all corners of
the globe, the spirit of personalization, enterprise and
autonomy is as alive in us Americans as it is in the Rum
crafters of yesterday and today.
Similar to the saga of Rum, the story of America
is never ending, perpetually evolving and eternally
maturing. Built upon the lessons and traditions of
generations past , we as Americans, and Copper
Compass as a proudly American spirit, are on a journey
that has no destination. It is this spirit that fuels the
unfolding of tomorrow, accompanied always by an
open mind, a passionate will, and a desire to unite over
quality spirits; both in hand and in heart.
